Rope Access is performed in hard-to-reach places where an aerial work platform can only reach with difficulty or not at all, or where scaffolding is out of the question. The Goliath is a steel roller coaster at Walibi Holland amusement park in Biddinghuizen. With a height of 46.8 metres, it is difficult for the technical department to inspect the entire roller coaster with an aerial platform. For some places at height, they are difficult to reach and then Rope Access deployment is the only option. Sometimes, too, the costs of deploying scaffolding and aerial work platforms do not outweigh the benefits. Line of Sight uses Rope Access to install antennas in telecom masts or cameras on buildings, for example. This involves, among other things, the use of rope winches; special tools to easily and quickly hoist and hold the installation in place. An outage in the mobile network needs to be fixed quickly. Some sites are so difficult to reach that only a crane can be used to reach the antenna.
